The installation of POWERCORP's Remote Control Network began in 1992 and has been expanding ever since. The network consists of several remote control terminals throughout the world, which supervise remote power stations. As well as monitoring and controlling 36 stations in the Northern Territory, a master control centre at POWERCORP's head office oversees IPS Technology in far North Queensland, Western Australia and remote areas of Malaysia.
Northern Territory remote power station network Remote control is achieved via a modem and telephone line. Three level password security prevents unauthorised access to power stations on the network. Unique semi-automatic control abilities and graphical analysis of power station faults makes the remote control feature of POWERCORP's IPS Technology the only one of its kind throughout the world.
